Arizona universities form biomedical collaborative
Summary:
Arizona's three public universities join forces in the Arizona Biomedical Collaborative, sharing expertise, developing health care educational programs, and creating a new health policy and law institute.
Full Story:
For Arizona's public universities, working together is as easy as ABC.
The three entities have established the Arizona Biomedical Collaborative, or ABC, to plan and coordinate education, research, and health policy among Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, and the University of Arizona. The group's charter was approved at the April meeting of the Board of Regents.
The group will be directed by Raymond Woosley, vice president of health sciences for UA. Woosley told the Arizona Daily Star that the group grew out of the collaborative recruiting effort to establish the Translational Genomics Research Institute in Arizona.
Among the activities of the unfunded collaborative will be sharing expertise among faculty teams, developing new or expanded education programs for health care professionals, and creating a new health policy and law institute.
